Wow great news, I can't believe this is only the first bank of patches Roland has released. I know what I'm doing tonight!

From the "Tips" file, it looks like these are going to be pretty comprehensive. Has anyone tried them yet? What's everyone's first impression of these?

I think the organs on Bank 1 are cool. There are also a couple of dirty sounding synths in there that are cool if you switch them to mono and put them down an octave or two.

I’m also not super-excited about them tbh.

They demonstrate some nice tricks though.

I can understand the reasoning behind your comment and I guess each person will have a different reason for using a Gaia depending on the genre or style of music that they play.

So ulitmately, every one will have a different view on what makes a really good patch.
It's still good that Roland and Mr Fisher have put some time and effort into creating this bank of additional sounds.
For instance, I personally learnt that using the pitch shifter is a good way to increase the presence and intensity of a patch.

I'm interested in creating backing tracks for celtic music, so for me pad creation and strings are quite important. But probably not to everyone's taste. The Gaia is not my main instrument, but just an easily programmable sound tool.
The Luftrum patches seem to be well liked, but of course they are not free.
It would be nice to see a few more patches being created by users and posted on this group, even if they just spark a little bit of conversation.

In a day or two I will post some more, which may at least create some interesting conversation. I am really looking forward to Grauw developing his control program to include library and patch naming features ;)

I guess at the moment, everyone is still too busy playing around and creating good music on their Gaia.
