Tips/tricks for best sound in DAW?

Postby inclination » Wed Apr 04, 2012 5:01 pm

When recording into Reaper, the recorded audio output from the Gaia isn't coming out as full as it's live performance from the synth itself. The onboard reverb unit sounds excellent when played, but the recording doesn't capture it exactly as it sounds. I'm definitely not knowledgeable about this kind of technical stuff; I don't know what kind of parameters (aside from sample rate) would make the recording closer to the actual sound produced by the Gaia. Anyone have any ideas on improving the quality?

1 Make sure that you record through the usb connection.
2 Record in stereo.
3 The signal looks at bit low on Reaper, but is noise free and can be brought up in the mix.
4 Open two tracks, one for audio and one for midi, in case you need to alter anything afterwards.

I usually record at 44.1khz 24bit. For everyday recording.

Anyone care to add to this list?
These work for me.
