Installed that Java thing - still seems to have the same problem - nothing coming up in the main window for me on latest version of Snow Leopard :( Oh well, keep trying! :)

It doesn’t fix the problem at all? Hmm, I tried mmj in a virtual machine with Mac OS X 1.6, and it seemed to at least work initially, although it did crash later...

Mmh, it’s a bit crashy still, needs a little more work. It doesn’t really have any real exciting new features aside from MIDI device selection. I would like to add some nice things like patch name editing and saving/loading of patches, but I didn’t spend so much time on it the last couple of weeks. Probably I should just get this stable and released, and worry about those features after.

I second what elpiulas posted a few days ago. Gaia tool does not work on macBookPro (10.6.5), but it does run in a WinXP environment under Parallel desktop.

I also tested MMJ and Mandolane. So far no use. With MMJ, the libmmj.jnilib and mmj.jar were both placed in to the Library/Java/Extensions folder. Also tried the files in the 0_90 and mmj_088 (32bit) folders.

With Mandolane installed, the Gaia tool still does not display anything in the main window BUT, something did change. Upon launch, the log window now displays:

Found (OUT): SH-01 <MIn: 0>
Found (IN): SH-01 <MOut: 0>
Found (OUT): SH-01
Found (IN): SH-01

where as before Mandolane was installed, Gaia tool displayed the following upon launch:

Found (OUT): SH-01
Found (IN): SH-01

I released a new version, 0.2.0 highlights:

  • Patch name editing
  • Loading and saving patches to disk
  • MIDI device selection
  • Sync panels with the GAIA
  • Spinner values are now keyboard editable
  • Tool tips stay visible longer

Get it here: http://www.grauw.nl/projects/gaia-tool/

Note by the way that the syncing isn’t perfect yet, so if you’re saving the temporary patch to disk be sure to first reload all its panels, or restart the tool.

Brilliant, I just tried it and it seems to be working really well. Occasionally it locks, but all editors seem to do that from time to time.
Anyway, here is my first saved inidividual patch called 'icicle'. You will need to use Laurens editor to load it in.
I imagine if you wish to keep the patch on power off, you will need to press 'write' a couple of times.

I can't upload it as an attachment here, as I keep being told that the extension .gaia is not allowed.
Perhaps admin could check this out.

Here is an alternative site to download this single patch.
