Which waveforms for which sounds?

Hi there!

Which waveforms do you prefer for creating pad/lead/bass sounds? The supersaw is obviously the winner in the pad category, though I haven't much experimented with other waveforms in this department.

I have also some questions regarding the ring modulator. I know how a squarewave lead would sound (if I wanted to create one), but I can't really imagine the sound created by two oscillators (2 tones) and put thru the ring modulator. By analysing preset patches I have discovered some very interesting ideas, but I still can't foresee (forehear :D ) the outcoming sound of 2 tones + ring modulator. Can anyone provide me with some details on this matter?

I find that the sine wave is good for organ sounds.
Triangle wave seems to give really good lead sounds.

Probably obvious, but I am finding out that the resonance effects each wave in slightly different ways.

I definitely like to square for electronic bass sounds. The sine is also cool for a smooth hip hop type lead.
